Birthdays can be particularly challenging for moms when their children eagerly ask, "Mom, my birthday is coming up. Will you plan something special for me? I want all my friends from school to come to my birthday."

I respond, "Yes, I'm planning something very nice for you. There will be many surprises. However, we might avoid inviting classmates."

"Oh! Is that so? Okay, Mom. Don't worry. I'll invite all my toy friends from my class and have a party with them. They are always very nice to me and invite me to play with them," my child replies.

"Happy Birthday, my love," I say, filled with warmth.
